Betty Barclay-Rennen

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Betty Barclay-Rennen is a Group 3 flat horse race in Germany for four-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 3,200 metres (approximately 2 miles) at Iffezheim Racecourse, Baden-Baden in May.

It was first run in 1972 as the Oleander-Rennen, named in honour of the racehorse Oleander, winner of the Grosser Preis von Baden three times in the 1920s and later the leading sire in Germany nine times. The race was promoted to Group 3 status in 1989 and the present title was introduced in the late 1990s.
