From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bettws High School is a co-educational secondary school in Bettws, Newport, South Wales, UK for pupils aged 11-18 years. There are about 1100 pupils from a catchment area to the north western side of Newport. There are about 85 members of staff led by the headteacher, Mr G Schlick.

The school motto is: Educating Today's Children for Tomorrow's Challenges.

Over recent years, the school has worked hard to shrug off the decades of slow deteriation. Today, the school is improving rapidly, with results that are climbing every year.

The school was recently inspected and we await the formal inspection report.

A new school is currently being built on the front field of the current school and will hopefully be completed in September 2009 ready for the new term, the current school and the rest of the land was recently sold to Barrat Homes.
