Elizabeth "Betsy" Sholl is the current poet laureate for Maine. She was appointed by Governor John Baldacci to the position in 2006 and will hold it until 2011. She teaches at the University of Southern Maine and Vermont College. She has an MFA in poetry writing from Vermont College as well as a BA in English Literature from Bucknell University. She has written 8 books of poetry the last being published in 2004.
