Bethlehem is a village in Ohio County, West Virginia, United States. It is part of the Wheeling, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,651 at the 2000 census.

Bethlehem is located at 40°2′56″N, 80°41′37″W (40.048761, -80.693601)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.5 square miles (9.1 km²), all of it land. Elevation is 1243 feet.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 2,651 people, 1,127 households, and 793 families residing in the village. The population density was 751.2 people per square mile (290.0/km²). There were 1,169 housing units at an average density of 331.2/sq mi (127.9/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 96.57% White, 1.17% African American, 0.08% Native American, 1.62% Asian, 0.04% from other races, and 0.53% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.

There were 1,127 households out of which 28.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.2% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.6% were non-families. 26.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.83.

In the village the population was spread out with 21.6% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 20.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 93.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.4 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $43,802, and the median income for a family was $49,491. Males had a median income of $37,850 versus $25,750 for females. The per capita income for the village was $21,995. About 0.5% of families and 2.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.2% of those under age 18 and 2.2% of those age 65 or over.
