Beth-nimrah

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Beth-Nimrah was a town in ancient Israel.

The town was located east of Jordan River and was assigned to the Tribe of Gad. It is believed to be identical with the place called simply Nimrah. It is described as "in the low plain". The name is preserved in the names Tel Nimrin and Wadi Nimrin, but the location of the old town is believed to be at Tel Bleibil. It was once said to belong to the kingdom of Sihon.
