[edit] Inputbox

I have removed the inputbox from your page, as it creates articles here and Wikipedia is not a 词典. Kusma (討論) 17:09, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Anne-Marie Péladeau

Anne-Marie Péladeau has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this person might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:Notability (people) for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" template, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod template, the article will not be deleted, but if an editor is still not satisfied that it meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Eksi Sozluk

A tag has been placed on Eksi Sozluk, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Eksi Sozluk is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Eksi Sozluk saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we ask you to follow these instructions. Eli Falk 09:46, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE:Crimea

No, I use Mozilla Firefox, and I didn't see any overlapping.. Now there is just a big white space between the text and the infobox. Perhaps we should just remove the whole

thing, perhaps then it will be alright for all.. —dima/talk/ 20:16, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

  • ...Yes you did reintroduce the overlapping. I can't use your font. It's way too small for me. So with my font it's seriously overlapping.
Curious; I haven't heard of or seen this kind of situation reported before. My circumstance is the same as reported by dima above, so I wonder if other folk are also now seeing a significant gap between the text and infobox. Do you find this problem elsewhere in Wikipedia, e.g. on other pages using the same or similar infoboxes (articles on countries, etc)...?  Thanks for your message, David Kernow (talk) 22:33, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Siberian artificial language

An editor has nominated Siberian artificial language, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Siberian artificial language and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] Chinese Himnusz

Thank you for your recent contribution of the Chinese translation and transliteration of the Himnusz, but if I may ask... what should we do with it? It seems to be more of a Chinese wikipedia thing, which has at least comparable info on its page (zh:匈牙利國歌). Any suggestions would be appreciated...! Korossyl 11:57, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination: 2007 Taliban-seized South Korean hostage crisis

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that 2007 Taliban-seized South Korean hostage crisis meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2007 Taliban-seized South Korean hostage crisis. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 17:02, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. [edit] Yunnan flag

Hi. I've been looking at the image Image:Yunnan.gif, which you originally uploaded. It is presently orphaned, and the discussion at Talk:Yunnan#Flag of Yunnan suggests that its description text is inaccurate, or at least incomplete. I've also been trying to follow up on the image's public domain status, but I can't verify that. You indicated that it was copied from "Flagpost", but neither flagpost.net nor flagpost.com seem to be the source. (Flagpost.net just offers a single image with some poetry, flagpost.com seems to be just some commercial schlock sitting on a domain.) I would like to (a) find some text to copy clearly indicating the image's free-use status, (b) insert some informative text, and (c) move the image to the Commons (but only if a and b are done first). Failing all of that, I'm considering nominating the image for deletion. Can you help out with any information, leads, or perspective? Ipoellet (talk) 03:13, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the corrected referral to http://flagspot.net/flags/. I went there to verify that they had released the Yunnan image into the public domain. What I found was that in fact they did not, and that the use conditions they place on their content do not meet the Wikipedia criteria for free content. Some nonfree images are still permitted on Wikipedia, but Image:Yunnan.gif also does not meet the Wikipedia criteria for fair use. For these reasons, and because the image is not used in any article, I will be nominating it for speedy deletion. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia, and I'm looking to your future help making this a great encyclopedia! Ipoellet (talk) 05:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spam in Anydata

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Anydata, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Anydata is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Anydata, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. [edit] Arcoa

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Arcoa, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Name of Turkey

I don't think it's a wise decision to paste the entire article from Name of Turkey to History of the Turkish People. Much of the original article of Name of Turkey actually does not talk about the "Turks" as an ethnic group, but about the NAMES that had been historically conferred on the land we now call "Turkey". I totally disagree with putting all this information under "History of the Turkish People". It is rather, about the land, or country, not about the people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bestlyriccollection (talkcontribs) 06:10, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Please, this revert is not about if the material you paste is correct or wrong. It is about matching the intention of the title and the content. Look at the article "Name of Istanbul." The article should only include "etymology of the word TURKEY", same as the name of Istanbul. You are performing WP:OR by including unrelated content in the article. If this continues, you will receive opposition, which might end up removal of the article. It is better if you tell your story in its correct place, which fits to history of Turkish people. Please, check the article history of Turkish people and you will see that that content is the correct article what you want to say. This article is about etymology, not history. TarikAkin (talk) 15:50, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm very happy you are contributing wikipedia. The content you are adding has an already developed initial content. You valuable additions are welcome under History of the Turkish people. Please take a little time and look at that page. The title you choose to add your contributions are not appropriate. Your current edits under "names of Turkey" is constituted as WP:OR. I'm happy to help you if you ask my help. --TarikAkin (talk) 00:47, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
To summarize: You want to create an article about "PRIMARILY about the LAND." You say the article will be about "Anatolian Turkish Nation," + "Hittites", + "Byzantines" + "Rum" + some others.

Do you mind looking at the article "History of Anatolia." The content you want to explain seems to be "partially" covered under this article. "Names of Turkey" or "Names of Anatolia‎" does not really an accepted terminology and you need to provide the proof that they are not WP:OR. Your knowledge will be more accessible if you integrate your information to "partially" developed "History of Anatolia." I have a feeling the problem here is not related to creating a new article, but lies at finding the correct place to extend (add what previous editors missed). It seems from your message that this article is "History of Anatolia." TarikAkin (talk) 04:50, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
