Unikkatil (born in 1981) (birth name Viktor Palokaj, also known as Rebel is a rapper and producer from Priština, Kosovo, Serbia[1], He has been a prolific pioneer of (Albanian Rap) since his beginnings in 1994. Unikkatil has continued producing successful tunes while living in the Bronx, New York. Unikkatil raps in Albanian and English though his main focus is in the Albanian language. In the late 90s/early 2000s Shqip Rap aimed for a carefree take on pop-rap until rappers, including Unikkatil, introduced Gangster Shqip Rap. Gangster rap did exist in one form or another in the Albanian rap scene. However, it was never popularized until Unikkatil began performing in the style. The skilful delivery and metaphorical rhymes of Unikkatil changed Albanian hip-hop. Many rap artists have since taken this direction, leaving the lighter rhyming party anthems and focusing on the hard-hitting hip-hop that Unikkatil helped to introduce. Although Rebel has gained fame recently, he precedes his popularity by some time. He began his career recording tracks such as "Pavarsi Kosova" ("Independence for Kosovo") and "Ta Zhdukim Policinë" ("Let's Vanish The Police") as early as 1992. At the age of only 12 he recorded his first legitimate song, entitled "Zinxhirët Qe S'kputen " ("Chains That Don't Break") in 1993. Viktori moved to the USA in 1996. There, in the heavily Albanian populated Bronx, he continued his career in music. In 1998 he wrote the song "If I Die U Die," considered by many as the best 'American-style' rap song . The top hits of Unikkatil are : " Ju ha per S'gjalli " Qa Tha " Crazy Albanians "

[edit] Other projects

In addition to heading Conqueror Records, he has formed a rap group called "The Bloody Alboz" or "T.B.A." ('Alboz' is short for 'Albanians') which has primarily worked at Conqueror Records Studio in the Bronx, New York. Unikkatil has hosted two albums to date for the rap group. Their debut album "Unikkatil Prezenton TBA" (which translates "Unikkatil Presents TBA") was released in 2005. Judging by the sound of the instrumentals it appears that most tracks were

"Unikkatil Prezenton The Bloody Alboz"
"Unikkatil Prezenton The Bloody Alboz"

was Unikkatil's first major release back in 2005 and produced by Unikkatil himself. The style of the instrumentals is not consistent throughout the album however, so it's safe to say that Unikkatil was not the only one involved in production, which is a good direction for the group's future LPs because it breaks the monotony and fits well to the various styles of the members of The Bloody Alboz. Unikkatil's well arranged hard kicks and snares, ethnic and string oriented instruments make his music stand out from the rest. The most recent album "Armiqt Suprem" (which translates "Supreme Enemies") was officially released and distributed on November 24, 2006 and just like the first albumm, was made available to predominantly Albanian audience worldwide. It sold 8,000 copies within the first three days in Kosovo which is huge success in a country with a low population of 2 million. This album starts out with an intense intro in which Rebel addresses the 'fake shqipes' with hardcore lyrics in a beautifully produced track with amazing delivery. The album is very impressive, keeping up with TBA's gangster image but also tackling many social issues. Unikkatil Claims the Crown King of th Albanian Rap as until now he is One of the best.
