[edit] Bescot Bridge Station

British History Online reckons that the site of the original Bescot Bridge station on the Grand Junction Railway was just up the road at the site of Wood Green station. Rail around Birmingham and the West Midlands reckons that Bescot Bridge station was located at the site of Bescot Stadium.

The earliest mapping I can find for the area is 1889, which is unhelpful, although Bescot Stadium is marked as "Bescot Junction" and appears to be off the beaten track a little, whilst Wood Green is on the main Walsall to Wednesbury road, which seems like a much more logical place to put an early station.
