"Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning)" is a song recorded by the American alternative rock band Vertical Horizon on their 1999 debut album Everything You Want.[1] It was released as a single in 2001. It served as the band's fourth overall single, and their third consecutive Top Ten hit on the Billboard Adult Top 40 charts.

In 2005, country music singer Gary Allan recorded a cover version for his album Tough All Over. Allan's version, which was titled "Best I Ever Had" upon its release to radio, became his eighth Top Ten hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in mid-2005. [2]
