Beselich is a municipality in the Limburg-Weilburg district in Hesse, Germany.

Beselich is situated at the south leaning of the Westerwald and close to the Lahn valley.
[edit] Neighbouring municipalities
The municipal borders in the north with Merenberg, in the east with Weilburg, in the south with Runkel and the district town Limburg an in the west with Hadamar.
[edit] Structure of the municipality
Beselich consists of the districts Schupbach, Heckholzhausen, Obertiefenbach (domicile of the municipal administration) and Niedertiefenbach.

Beselich was founded during the Hessian area reformation in the 1970s. The autonomous municipalities Heckholzhausen, Niedertiefenbach, Obertiefenbach and Schupbach were joined. The name is based on a lea's name in the centre of the new municipality.

There are two catholic churches in the municipality, St. Aegidius (Obertiefenbach) and St. Marien (Niedertiefenbach). There are also two Protestant churches which are in Schupbach and Heckholzhausen.
[edit] Economy and infrastructure
In the area of Schupbach the so called "Lahn marble" has been mined, but the deposits are now exhausted and not anymore economical to mine respectively. Today, Beselich is manly a living municipality, whose residents work in the surrounding towns like Limburg or Wetzlar.

The "Bundesstraße 49" goes directly through Beselich. It is connected to neighbouring municipalities by county roads.
