Bernie, Newbold was just a village in 1882. It was not part of Chesterfield then. Regards. David Lauder 14:07, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I am aware of this fact and technically newbold is still village so I am, in a way, reverting my statement on newobld not being a village in its own right; it is something of a "grey area" as to its status. One can be regarded to reside within chesterfield if one resides within newbold, even though newbold is a village. This is something that needs to be carefully phrased; perhaps, "Newbold is a village, located within derbyshire and also a suburb of the Borough of Chestefield"
