[edit] Greenhood Orchid Genus
It seems that to be consistent the Greenhood genus entry simply should be an alias to an actual Pterostylis genus entry, what do you think? All of the other genus entries are entered as their actual name, not their common name. I didnt want to simply alias this page without a chat. Brett Francis 05:05, 12 September 2005 (UTC)
- I think you are right, but I may not be the right person to ask, my contribution to the english wikipedia is limited, at least until now. --BerndH 14:30, 15 September 2005 (UTC)
- OK, I've been talking with JoJan on some other Orchid subjects. I'll direct him here to see if he might have some thoughts.(Brett Francis 07:41, 16 September 2005 (UTC))
[edit] Ophrys apifera
This species often self-pollinates according to its main article. It doesn't cite any sources, but its equivalent in de.wiki, which has many citations, also reads die Pflanzen werden nur selten von Insekten besucht; Selbstbestäubung (Autogamie) ist die Regel, which is the plants are only seldom visited by insects, self pollination (autogamy) is the norm. Also note the picture. Please, unless you can provide a source, reconsider your last edit. Regards. Aelwyn 18:39, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- You're a German native speaker! I hope my traslation os alright! Aelwyn 18:41, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- The translation is good enough. I know the picture, it is from - uh, well - me. I´ve never seen dry caudiculs on Ophrys apifera and the pollinia can´t just fall directly on the stigma, they have to bend towards it. Maybe the described method should be changed. --BerndH 19:29, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

- Shame on you, orginal research! (Just kidding) Well, if it's like that, you can of course change that part of the article yourself. Or I may do it on the next days. Thx! Aelwyn 14:25, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
