[edit] WikiProject BBC Sitcoms
Recently, you said you would be interested in joining a WikiProject on BBC Sitcoms. This project is now active and if you would like to help with it please express your interest on the project talk page, if not please remove your name from the list of participants section on the project main page. I have thought that every month or so we should concentrate on one project, I have yet to think of one for January. If you are interested please leave an idea for what sitcom would be best, on the project talk page. Thankyou Mollsmolyneux 16:15, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Miss Marple
Sorry about the revert. I should have checked a bit more thoroughly.

[edit] Real location of fictional town
I have amended the Jam & Jerusalem with the addition of the line:
Some have suggested that the show is based on the actual village of Chagford where Jennifer Saunders has a home.
Twice now you have deleted this with the note that it needs referencing. What reference do you need? I am a resident of Chagford and know that Jennifer Saunders owns a house on the edge of the village. And as a resident have been part of the village discussions that 'suggests' the sitcom is based on Chagford.
Below are some link to site showing that JS has a house in Chagford

[edit] A note of thanks
Hi Berks105. I just wanted to drop you a note of thanks. The first thanks is for being a part of creating pages for both the Joan Hickson and the Geraldine McEwan Miss Marple series. The BIGGER thanks is for being so thorough in changing the links for the actors that were in each series. I know that it was a big job, partly becasue I connected some of these actors to the original Marple page when I was checking and fixing their filmographies before these new pages were started. It is the finest of wikipedia editors that realize the ramifications of their work and the need to check all of the areas that their editing effects. So thanks again. [edit] Help with Eastbourne
I am trying to gather a small group of people to improve the Eastbourne article and writing to you as you have edited that page recently. I have set up a what needs to be done section on the talk page, and I am hoping that I will get a few people to start a discussion. It would be wonderful if you could spare a few minutes just to look at the current Eastbourne article and give your opinion. It would be even more wonderful if you could join in with this small project as well. Thank you MortimerCat 12:05, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The vandal
User 68.82.82.248 -we discussed them already, they vandalised Madonna, Jennifer Saunders etc.- got a blatant warning on Sep. 30 and keep vandalising pages. They vandalised Janet Jackson yesterday and today again. They already got a Blatantvandal warning -way back on Sep. 30- and they got a new one yesterday. I invite you to report them -even though they did not vandalise your articles recently-([4] as no action is being taken against them. Thank you.

[edit] The Vicar of Dibley catagory
Why do you keep on removing the category of 'Lists of comedy television series episodes' from the List of The Vicar of Dibley episodes? I would have thought thought that it would fit into this catagory very well. User:Midnightblueowl
[edit] 'Allo 'Allo! Series 3/4/5/6/7/8/9
Hi,
A user by the name of Rudy Tony has posted content on these pages, which has being copied from the Café René Episode Guide webpages (URL = http://www.coldcut.com/video/aa/episodeguide.html). Having read Wiki's policy on copyright, I have posted a message on the user's talk page informing them that if they are not the original author, this content will have to be deleted due to copyright infringement.
As a fellow frequent editor to the 'Allo 'Allo! pages, I'd be grateful if you check that I have taken the right action. Cheers. Brandybordeaux 13:32, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Cliff Richard - "British-Indian"?
I support your view. Just done a bit of reading and argued against "British-Indian" on the discussion page. Just as I wanted to edit the article, you'd already done the job. Regards, Linguini 19:07, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Member of Parliament (MP)
Hi Berks105, I have just edited Liverpool Edge Hill by-election, 1979 to expland he term "MP" to "Member of Parliament (MP)", per WP:MOS#Acronyms_and_abbreviations.
We shouldn't assume that readers will know what an MP is, or make them follow a link to find out! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 12:57, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough! As a Brit I presume everyone will know what it stands for, but I suppose people from other countries won't! --Berks105 13:04, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- I also used to assume that most of those interested would know, but a discussion at CFD on Category:UK MPs 1910 etc threw up several editors (Americans, I think) who were used to MP meaning military police. So now I have added this to my list of pedantries, and try to spell it out in every article I see it being used. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 13:10, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of My Family episodes
A reformatting has been requested. One of the reasons for the standard formatting is the text size in the summary. Have you looked at the featured lists in the media section? Jay32183 19:19, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- The request was made in this edit. As for the capitalization, I used the standard method that would appear in a TV Guide or similar television listing. Title screens for the show generally cannot be trusted because the show takes artistic licence. In fact, I copy and pasted all the episode titles from TV.com. Have you read the guidelines at WP:LOE? I still have a problem with the summaries being at 90%, they should be at 100%, it is the main body of text, it should not be de-emphasized. Jay32183 19:50, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- Although you made the text size in some part of the article 100%, the summaries are still 90%. The letters are smaller than those of the episode titles. WP:LOE guidelines were made by consensus. You should probably raise questions there about any reasonings, you may be acting alone. The guidelines aren't new and being sneaked in, they are older than this episode list. Although TV.com or IMDb.com aren't reliable sources, they do use correct capitalization. Please use the project talk page to ask questions, that way you know it's not just me trying to force you into a personal preference but that there is currently an agreement. If you wish to discuss changes to the format it should be done there. The purpose of the project is to have a standard for all articles within the scope of the project, which does include List of My Family episodes. Jay32183 19:43, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Baron Beauchamp de Warick
Hi Berks I'm not sure why you don't think Baron Beauchamp de Warwick fits the category: extinct baronies? Did you mean to erase this when you added the death category? Christina Kaye 17:25, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- That makes sense. Thank for answering. Bye Christina Kaye 17:31, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Sweet1600.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Sweet1600.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:09, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Tidyup thanks
Hi, I just wanted to say a quick thank you for your work in tidying up my typos and udder speling misteaks etc on various new articles I have created. I dunno whether you are spotting the new articles by following my contribs page or through related changes pages, but however you find them — thanks. Two pairs of eyes are always better than one! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 14:06, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have replied to your question at User talk:BrownHairedGirl#Tidy_up_Thanks. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 11:19, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Beverley Baxter
Although there was no new MP for Southgate until the 1964 general election, Beverley Baxter had died several months before (at the end of April 1964), so he didn't quite make it to the dissolution. Normally when I've been writing these succession boxes I have been linking to the general election or byelection article but in this specific case there was no byelection and the general election seemed inappropriate. [edit] Dates
Please read WP:DATES. Michaelsanders 15:07, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- The manual and dates both emphasise not making gratuitous changes from the original format. It is bad faith. It was written in the American date format, leave it like that. Michaelsanders 15:08, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- Your link refers only to countries. This is to people - two of whom were not even English. Michaelsanders 15:17, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Baron Ponsonby of Imokilly, or Baron Ponsonby
Hi Berks105, as you are an informed commentator I would be very grateful if you would be able to take a look at the following thread talk:Baron Ponsonby of Imokilly and give us the benefit of your experience. Thanks Christina Kaye 16:52, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Nationality/citizenship
I have just taken the time to read the discussion you kindly linked me to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_%28biographies%29#Proposition:_Change_in_Style_of_Introductory_Paragraphs There is very little discussion there, but a consensus seems to be that there is a correct policy, but it wouldn't fly because of the nationalistic tendencies of Scottish and Welsh editors. (This is idiotic to say the least.) So your reverting my edits was also unjustified and irrational, in that you weren't supporting any fixed rules, but merely your own personal opinion. laddiebuck 19:11, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] John Inman
Hi - you added those good refs to the John Inman article, but I notice that some of them were formatted wrongly. There's an article Wikipedia:Footnotes#Where_to_place_ref_tags which covers this, if you want to take a look. Best regards, --Oscarthecat 16:23, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Date preferences
Hey Berks. I noticed that you have been editing articles to change date format to your preferred style. This is quite unnecessary and looking at your contribs, it is starting to look disruptive. Please click on Special:Preferences, then click on the tab "date and time", select the British format, then click the "save" button and all dates will appear in your preferred style. I feel that editing articles purely to change the date format is disruptive and very unnecessary and I think you should stop. Thanks, Sarah 12:03, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- In response to your message, as I said above, please set your account preferences correctly and this will not be an issue for you. It is unnecessary to edit articles purely to change the dates. I could understand if you were making these changes while making other edits but editing purely to play with dates when you can just set your date preferences in you account setting so they all always appear as you prefer is not necessary and frequently starts edit wars. Sarah 12:08, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Please, you're being ridiculous and you even contradict yourself. As for who has started and continued, I might add, an edit war, well, I'm afraid that is a matter of perspective. Additionally, I find your screaming edit summary of "NO" entirely inappropriate. You have absolutely no business screaming "NO" at other editors and it is precisely that sort attitude that starts and continues edit wars. You don't WP:OWN these articles and I strongly advise to cut your attitude out right now and move on to something else. Screaming "NO" at any editor, whether they be an anon or an administrator is not aceptable. Please move on. Sarah 12:30, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AYBS? characters
I'm not quite sure why you reverted my revert. Mrs. Slocombe always said "My" not "Me", and I cannot understand you reason for revert my edit to clarify that? --Berks105 20:02, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
the mea culpa, was offered because i couldn't find any instance of the usage of me with a cursory seach through aybs? scripts. however--and this is completely for intellectual exercise--even if she only made the statement once during the entire series, it would be proper, and even more interesting from a comedic standpoint to use me in the article.--emerson7 | Talk 20:29, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's dialectical and/or situational anyway - the usage of "me" or "my" doesn't change the meaning at all, only the language level. It shouldn't make a huge difference encyclopedically speaking. MSJapan 00:19, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] VoD
I'd advise you to sell revert at VoD per WP:3RR, you've partially reverted to this revision, no more then four times in 24 hours. --Matthew
- I'm not doing anything but correcting them per the MoS, which all pages should follow unless there's a good reason not to. WP:MOS (WP:TENSE for information on tenses). Matthew
- Do you follow the guidelines/policies? "Neutral editor" or not, present tense is correct, per the Manual of Style, you're welcome to get consensus to change this long-standing consensus, however. Matthew
[edit] Goodbye

Best wishes too, from me. Much as I'll miss your thoughtful and well-researched contributions, I won't try to dissuade you, because if you've taken too much hassle, then I'm sure it's best for you to move: life is too short to voluntarily sign up to negativity. Good luck in your other ventures! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:07, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lady Phillips
Well, I can't say that I am sorry to hear that you're going..... Tell me, if you can't spell manual correctly, what faith should one put in the rest of your edits or your interpretation of Wikipedia policy Paul venter 17:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- To: Berks105 (talk · contribs) and Paul venter (talk · contribs)
- From: Kevinkor2 (talk · contribs)
- I recommend that both of you stop renaming the article about Dorothea Sarah Florence Alexandra, Lady Phillips.
- These actions are interfering with your common goal: To get the best article on Lady Phillips possible.
- Until active editting has stopped, treat the name of the article as a placeholder. After active editting has stopped, we can rename it if necessary.

[edit] Incident report started over edit war
I just thought you should know I have started an incident report over the recent edit wars you have had with Paul venter. I am officially neutral over the matter and am finding no one at fault and no one in the wrong, but the entire matter needs to cease. If you would like to comment on the situation, please go to WP:ANI. --Jayron32|talk|contribs 05:33, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
- To be honest do what you like. I have reverted the two articles, to how they look best and to fit in with MofS. Paul Venter doesn't like anyone meddling with his articles, he thinks he owns them. Anyway, as you can see from my user page, I had left Wikipedia, and will therefore leave this. It is petty arguments like this, with people who fail to listen to anyone, that made me leave in the first place. --Berks105 10:53, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
