Talk:Bertrand Road suspension bridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The historic Bertrand Road suspension bridge, (one of only a few such road bridges in New Zealand) is several kilometres from State Highway 3 (just up from the town).
This statement appears in the Waitara River article, and should be repeated and expanded on here. (Is it being a suspension road bridge that makes it unusual?) Otherwise there seems to be no reason for the article (I just checked to see if there was one on Big Jim's Hill). I cycled across the bridge a number of times in my youth. The crossing was either followed by an arduous climb or preceded by a breakneck descent, depending on whether I was going from Tikorangi to Huirangi or vice versa.
