Talk:Bernie Machen

[edit] motorcyle
I don't want it to seem like aberant vandalism, but I think that the sentence about being seen on his motorcylce should be deleted. I've lived on campus for three years, and never have I, nor has anyone I've ever spoken to, seen Machen riding on his Harley. There is no citation, but this seems like the kind of thing that was mentioned once in a press release somewhere, and perhaps was taken as fact.
[edit] GatorGradCare
Why is this notable enough to be included? (I ask as a student quite looking forward to the health care myself...) Phil Sandifer 00:41, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, as a current grad student at UF, it should be noted the Bernie was vehemently opposed to wasting valuable sports money on grad student health, and only "agreed" to do so to avoid negative press coverage. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.171.52.228 (talk) 02:22, 1 April 2007 (UTC).

- Can we delete the above unsigned nonsense from the talk page? If it wasn't for Machen, we wouldn't have GGC, and that's true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.81.154.183 (talk) 23:51, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
