I am reading a book in which Doenitz states that Rogge was Jewish. Does anyone know how he came up with this absurd claim?

His grandfather - I don't know which one - was a Jew. Under Judaic law, this did not make Rogge a Jew, as you are a Jew only if your mother is a Jew. However under the German Racial Purity laws, hoe could be considered to be Jewish, so he was required to apply for a certificate stating he was not.
