[edit] Summary

The Berkeley Pier as viewed from the shoreline, November 2007. The first 3000 feet of the pier is maintained and open for public use. The abandoned decaying old pier is visible as it extends into San Francisco Bay. In the distance (left to right) are Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands, and Angel Island.
