Bert Kennedy is a well known mining industry personality. He holds a BSc in Geology from the University of London and an MSc in Geochemistry from the University of Oxford. He is a Chartered Engineer and a fellow of the IMMM. From 1995 to 1998 Bert was President and CEO of Arian Resources Ltd. He took Arian's Jullietta gold project from exploration, to bankable feasibility study, to 120,000 oz per year producing mine while keeping cost to just $100 per oz. He has been CEO of European Minerals since 1995 and is developing a gold and copper mine Varvarinskoye in Kazakhstan due for completion in October 2007.
