Berryville is a city in Carroll County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 4,433 at the 2000 census. Along with Eureka Springs, it one of the two county seats of Carroll County.[1]

(36.368421, -93.568205).According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.4 square miles (11.5 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 4,433 people, 1,710 households, and 1,113 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,000.8 people per square mile (386.4/km²). There were 1,881 housing units at an average density of 424.6/sq mi (163.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 90.80% White, 0.05% Black or African American, 0.70% Native American, 0.47% Asian, and 19.58% Hispanic or Latino of any race. 6.68% were from other races, and 1.31% from two or more races.
There were 1,710 households out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.4% were married couples living together, 11.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.9% were non-families. 30.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.14.
In the city the population was spread out with 25.9% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.9 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $26,408, and the median income for a family was $32,468. Males had a median income of $20,430 versus $17,722 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,873. About 15.8% of families and 21.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 34.2% of those under age 18 and 16.8% of those age 65 or over.

Sow's Ear Antiques has a comprehensive book section of more than 5,000 titles of rare, collectible and notable books including books from the University of Arkansas Press and Toby Books, representing Donald Harington, the "Shakespeare" of the Ozarks.
The city is home to many Arkansas writers whose books are available in the local shops. This city also houses the "world famous" Saunder's Museum, which has guns used by outlaws such as Pancho Villa, Billy the Kid, and many others, as well as other items of interest. Berryville is the home base of operation for the handgun manufacturing companies of Nighthawk Arms and Wilson Combat, as well as the International Defensive Pistol Association, a body that sanctions practical shooting competitions that emphasize real-world self-defense scenarios.
Little Portion Hermitage, the community founded by Christian musician John Michael Talbot, is located just outside Berryville. Tours can be arranged at most times.

The town has one set of interlinked public schools. Berryville Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle, and High Schools are these. The public schools are currently under a building project, due to over-crowding.(http://bobcat.oursc.k12.ar.us/)
