Bernd Out

Bernd Godfried Wilhelm Out (born 1979-09-23)[1] is a Dutch documentary filmmaker and photographer. He has studied at New York Film Academy (2004) and holds a Master of Arts degree in film studies at the University of Amsterdam (2004). In 2006 he directed a documentary about blind climber Erik Weihenmayer in Peru during an expedition across the Andes with blind and visually-impaired students. He has also written a book on Dutch cinema, The Roaring Nineties: A Decade of Industrial Reform in Contemporary Dutch Cinema. The book provides an in-depth look at contemporary Dutch cinema (1992-2004) in a compact overview of the major developments in financing, production, distribution and style that dramatically altered the face of Dutch cinema during the Nineties.
