Bernd Behr

Bernd Behr (born 1976) is a London-based, German-born artist of Taiwanese/German parentage.

Born in Hamburg, Having grown up in Malaysia, went to study BFA programme at the San José State University, California in 1995, completed Bachelor Arts degree in Fine art at Goldsmiths College in 2001.

Behr was shortlisted for the 2003 Beck's Futures prize. Several of his works explore architecture: Ectoplasmic, for example, features debris falling down the side of a block of flats, while Theatre du Vide is a video of Behr climbing onto a gate-post after approaching it from three different angles (it was shot at the same location as Yves Klein's photograph, Saut dans le Vide (Leap into the Void)). His recent exhibition is held at the Alexia Goethe Gallery from 29 Feb - 7 Apr 2008 in London.

Behr currently practices in London, teaches at the University of Gloucestershire and Goldsmiths College, University of London.
