Bernard is the head-elf or 'Arch-elf' in the Disney movies, The Santa Clause and The Santa Clause 2. He is portrayed by actor David Krumholtz.
[edit] The Santa Clause
During the first film, he spends most of his time trying to make Scott Calvin (played by Tim Allen) understand that he is indeed Santa Claus and there is no getting out of it.
[edit] The Santa Clause 2
In second film, he spends much of his time bickering with Curtis who is unwilling to tell Santa about "The Mrs. Clause". He is also asked by Santa (Scott) to lie to the elves about the new and improved Santa who is actually a toy to replace Scott while he is out trying to find a wife. As hard as that is, he also has to team up with Curtis to make sure 'Toy Santa' is believable. In the end, Bernard is put under house arrest by Toy Santa. He also helps the elves and Scott defeat Toy Santa.
[edit] The Santa Clause 3: Escape Clause
Bernard does not appear in third film due to David Krumholtz's scheduling for the hit show Numb3rs[citation needed]
