J. Bernard Moffat is a Manx political campaigner and trade unionist. He is also opposed to the British nuclear industry.

He was one of the founder members of Mec Vannin in 1962.

[edit] Celtic League

He has twice served as secretary of the Celtic League, from (1984-88) and (1991-2006), the only person to do so.

He received unanimous commendation at the 2005 Celtic League AGM for fronting the Celtic League's long running "Military Monitoring Campaign", a campaign that all branches in the six Celtic nations have run over the past three decades.[citation needed]

He has also fronted the various Celtic League's branch campaigns for a number of artefacts to be returned to their countries of origin saying:

'These artefacts belong to the countries they came from. The argument used to be there was nowhere to house these artefacts where they belong. But that is a load of rubbish.'[1]
