[edit] Current Tasks

I have just plouged through the huge list of pages that link to the Portland article, and changed the link to either Isle of Portland, or Portland, Oregon, or Portland, Maine or whatever else.
I will check the "what links here" page now and again to get of rid of future links.

I thank you dearly for your corrections to my userbox about the periodic table. Snuffles72 01:07, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

You don't have to have it. I can too. - PatricknoddyTALK (reply here)|HISTORY 19:34, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature

Hi. I noticed your signature and thought it looked great. I'm wondering though, is the rule against images in signatures lax enough to allow very small images like your flag, or are you just living on the edge? I might like to steal your idea if it wouldn't get me into trouble. :-) --Segaba 19:11, 12 May 2007 (UTC) Replied on Segaba's talk page - living on the edge is more fun!

[edit] signature subpages

Please do not transclude a signature in from a user subpage as you did here. See Wikipedia:Signatures#Transclusion of templates for the relevant guideline. Thanks, BanyanTree 19:51, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Thankyou, as so often happens, someone points out a guideline before I've read it myself, I have used my actual signature in place, and have changed others like it. BennelliottTalkContributions 16:45, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

You might like to have a look at WP:SUBST -- this way you can continue using a template for your signature. Tebello TheWHAT!!?? 17:45, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Cheers for that, but I just copied the code into my signature anyway, but had to remove the link to wikimedia.de edit count unfortunately, but I don't mind, at least my shortcut is shorter now. ~~~~

[edit] Disambiguous Link

I'm new to Wiki. Thank you for fixing my contribution.

[edit] Template design

Hi - yes will be glad to help out - what's the problem and which of the various templates being discussed is the current "in development" one ? Having one colour calculation template to which the main template repeatedly uses for each month in turn would be easiest. Also, am I correct in thinking that there are a multitude of city weather templates ? (If so a really bad idea and should be merged into a single template). Any how let me know how I can help :-) David Ruben Talk 21:06, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] American films

Please please!!! help fill in List of American films. Even if it is just a few details it all helps -any contribution you had make will be more than appreciated!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 17:09, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't watch many American Films, the humour in them is either slapstick or nowhere near subtley British enough.

[edit] European Parliament

Have you noticed that two EP party-leaders (Joseph Daul and Francis Wurtz) are Strasbourg-born , whereas there is no Brussels-born party-leader? Funny, if you think about it. Cheers, RCS 16:36, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Indeed funny. But if all goes well, the EU-parliament will approve a proposition this wednesday, which says that the parliament will meet more often in Brussels, at the expense of Strasbourg. We will see. It would be nice, for the EU-parliament is the only parliament in the world who meets at different locations :-s Not to mention the costs it brings along :-s --Robster1983 15:15, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't think its odd there are no Brussels leaders, but two from Strasbourg, I had noticed that but never gave it much thought. They're both French, maybe the city just gives extra inspiration to aspiring politicians, directing those of the city disproportionally into the European, rather than national, sphere.
On a different note however, I did think it odd that people were adding stuff onto Ssolbergs's template and appearing in our talk pages, but perhaps we could use this? As not all would want to check the project talk page - perhaps if we have a window like this people could put on their talk of front page and people can use it as a notice board? Some rules to keep it limited in size of course, but useful maybe? - J Logan t/c: 18:42, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] eh?

I found your revert to United Kingdom quite surprising. Adding Northern Ireland's flag to the article was perfectly acceptable. It may not suit some people who would rather Northern Ireland did not exist as a separate entity, let alone be allowed to have its own flag, but then that would be POV! Biofoundationsoflanguage 17:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Wise sentiment. I'm sure the new generation of wikipedia-ers will sort it out. Biofoundationsoflanguage 18:13, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Could I have some help?

Hi Bennelliott, I'm trying to improve an article at the moment for FAC. Could you do me a favour and go through the Isle of Portland article and check the prose for anything that doesn't sound right, such as repetitions or awkward syntax etc. If there are any places which don't comply with WP:MOS and the FA criteria, then change them - a good article for help is User:Tony1/How to satisfy Criterion 1a.

Cheers Rossenglish 11:17, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, sounds interesting - keep me busy for a bit. BennelliottTalkContribs 11:58, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
I found the FAC - I'll fix the suggestions given there too - might as well. It'll be easier to find any similar errors then. BennelliottTalkContribs 12:00, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
I've done the FAC suggestions, now reading the article thoroughly for other stuff. Will be a few hours. BennelliottTalkContribs 12:34, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks so much, your fresh eyes are better than mine. I'm going to have a thorough read myself and check it against criteria - you never know what you find sometimes! Cheers, you helped so much. Rossenglish 19:02, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Ha! I've been caught red handed. And it was just my luck that I had to leave a comment right before yours. I think i'm gonna tweak the colour though; I won't be that nasty. -- Chris Btalkcontribs 14:47, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
