[edit] Welcome
Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out more about how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:
- To find out more about creating articles, read the introduction, tutorial, and the guide to creating your first article.
- Do not write articles about yourself, your company, your band, or your best friend - that's a conflict of interest.
- Wikipedia is not an advertising service.
- For experiments, please use the sandbox.

[edit] Notability of Niall Ashdown
A tag has been placed on Niall Ashdown requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page you created, you may want to consult WP:Your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 20:33, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] December 2007
Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Mark David Chapman appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. Onorem♠Dil 12:22, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Miss Moneypenny. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Bremerenator (talk) 20:00, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability
Hi. You seem to be creating a good many articles about places, and I am concerned that you may find they get deleted because they do not meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability. May I suggest you look at the general guideline on Notability and also the more specific one at Notability (places and transportation). It is also worth looking at the results of past Articles for Deletion debates, which are summarised at WP:OUTCOMES#Places. These last two are not binding, but they give an idea of how the general guideline has been interpreted. There is also Wikipedia is not a guidebook. The key point is that the notability requirement for "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" will provide you with the references which are essential if an article is to stay in Wikipedia, and if you can't find any that probably means your subject isn't notable. The guide to writing your first article is also full of good advice. One other point - Wikipedia is a global encyclopedia, and there are a lot of Newports in the world - you need to make it clear to a reader who may be in India or Peru which Newport you are writing about. [edit] St Matthews Church
Based on your note on the discussion page, I've moved St Matthews Church to User:BenjaminTeague123456 /St Matthews Church in your userspace. You should be able to expand the article and add references there without any issues. Then, when it's ready, you can move it to St Matthews Church. Please do not move it back before it's ready. In the future, please don't create articles without asserting or demonstrating their WP:Notability by citing WP:Reliable sources in the article. Good luck. Toddst1 (talk) 21:22, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Church Road (Newport)
..and for the same reasons I have moved Church Road (Newport) into your user space at user:BenjaminTeague123456/Church Road (Newport) where you can develop it and add references. But before you put too much work into it, do read the guidelines in the "notability" paragraph above; I seriously doubt whether it can meet the notability requirements. Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Evlis. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. The Helpful One (Review) 20:05, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject Homeschooling
Hey, glad to see another homeschooler on Wikipedia - it's quite a common trait it seems. "Joining" the group is as simple as adding your name to the list here. You may also be interested in looking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Alternative education. If you have any photos of your "homeschooling environment", such as desks in the kitchen, or your room, or a fieldtrip with other homeschoolers, we'd love to see it uploaded to help illustrate the articles.

Hi Benjamin,
Thanks for your interest in the Homeschooling WikiProject. Since we are both members and are interested in homeschooling-related topics, I was wondering if you would be interested in me adopting you through Wikipedia's Adopt-a-user program. You can read about the program on the project page. Let me know. - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 20:14, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
