[edit] Stubhub
I'm not sure what your problem with the article is, you could discuss it on the talk page. It's pretty clear you're editing from the IP account 74.0.120.234 (talk · contribs), with the common use of the summary "ax-grinding". Your reversions could be seen as vandalism, especially with your use of misleading edit summaries such as this one (very humorous calling me a sockpuppet) or this one. If you have a disagreement with Flmarinas that's not my problem; my version is thoroughly supported by specific sources. I don't see the point of stubbing the article so that it doesn't even describe the company's business. Please discuss it on the talk page. Thatcher131 20:55, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thomas Heazle Parke
Ben, you requested more information on Thomas Heazle Parke some time ago. Have you seen this article from the Medical History Journal ? --MortenB 20:48, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] User notice: temporary 3RR block
[edit] Regarding reversions[1] made on July 19, 2006 (UTC) to Stephanie Adams
You have been temporarily blocked for violation of the three-revert rule. Please feel free to return after the block expires, but also please make an effort to discuss your changes further in the future. |
[edit] AMA request
Hello Ben-w, I'm Steve Caruso from the Association of Members' Advocates. I'm sorry to hear about your problems with Hyporcite and your dispute over posting these facts and the dispute over how to interpret the WP:BLP policy. I'm here to tell you that we've recieved your request, and that I am currently working on providing you with a suitable Advocate who will help you further with the dispute resolution process. You should be hearing from us soon. אמר Steve Caruso (desk/poll) 16:48, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- PS - If in the future you would need our services again, it would be greatly appreciated if you follow the instructions on the request page as closely as possible. Having to reformat requests and create new talk sections can slow our response time. :-) אמר Steve Caruso (desk/poll) 16:48, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, what's the point. The whole thing is just bureaucracy and self-important pedantry writ large. Ben-w 16:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- So you would prefer not to make use of our services? Sometimes the rules here at Wikipedia can be very frustrating and trust me when I say that I'm very familliar with it. But, that's what the AMA is all about. We're a group of volunteers to help out with dispute resolution, understanding policy and rules abuse among other things. If you would still like help, I can find one of our available Advocates. If I wasn't currently busy with a case, I would extend an offer to help, myself. אמר Steve Caruso (desk/poll) 17:03, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kevin McBride
Why are you against the idea of Kevin McBride being reconized as a Bostonian? 75.3.11.87 05:40, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
A person can be from more than one place. Kevin McBride is from Clones, yes, I am not arguing that, I never argued that, stopped trying to make the argument about that. I am arguing that he lives in Boston now, he is a citizen of Boston, therefore he is also from Boston.
Is Hillary Clinton not from New York since she was born in Illinois? 75.3.11.87 00:07, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
You have never explained why you feel this why. All you are saying is that he is from Clones, which I am not denying. Why can't he also be from somewhere else though?
Answer my Hilary Clinton question. 75.3.11.87 01:48, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] James I
Can I ask why you removed the category of LGBT for James I? William III is classified in the same way.--81.106.244.103 10:07, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- can't see any point in responding to an anon IP. Ben-w 04:40, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] MedCab James I of England case
Hi, I am going to be the mediator for the James I of England MedCab case and the discussion is going to start on the talk page. Also, could I ask your opinion on this version of the article? Thanks, Addhoc 18:24, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Confused...
Hi... a little confused. I'm not a wikipedia regular, but I am Adam Macqueen, the biographer of Lord Leverhulme referred to on his page, and attempted to correct a few details on the page and add in some extra detail last week (while I'm open to argument on some issues, I definitely know how to spell my own name!). As far as I can tell, you've changed everything back. Why?
- I've replied on the article's talk page .... Ben-w 22:21, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] No Easter Eggs
The piped link ("gentlemen who pay the rent") you restored at Patrick Kavanagh would qualify as an Easter egg that either needs an explanatory footnote or should be delinked according to WP:PIPE. Thanks. — AjaxSmack 00:20, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Kinnock 1 h.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Kinnock 1 h.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Quentin X 13:26, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your comment on my talk page
You can go one of two ways here: you can work with Phaedriel, probably the nicest admin on the project, and remain civil, or you can fuck off. I don't actually care which. Have a great day, Guy (Help!) 18:35, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Per [2], fuck off it is then. Come back in a month, by whihc time the people prepared to contribute constructively should have made some real progress. Guy (Help!) 19:14, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dia duit!
Isn't a little too early to start the name calling and angry words, Ben? You haven't been attacked, nor I have "cossetted" nor "indulged" anyone today (well, maybe with the exception of my daughter). Please, can we stay cool and civil, and try to find a solution here? Sláinte! Phaedriel - 18:54, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unblocked
I've unblocked you and while you are absolutely free to disagree with the unblock of said editor, please refrain from ratcheting up the rhetoric here & I'd also suggest you stay away from User talk:Jeffrey Vernon Merkey. WP:COOL is the way to go.--Isotope23 20:06, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- No problem... this is probably going to be a messy several days/weeks...--Isotope23 20:08, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
