[edit] Standardized? By what measure?

From what I understand, the first car proven to be standardized was the 1907 Cadillac Model K, which won the Dewar Trophy by having three cars disassembled, their parts thoroughly mixed up and assembling three cars from the mixture of parts. By what measure were the Benz Velo and the Duryea Motor Wagon "standardized"? Respectfully, SamBlob (talk) 18:37, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
