From some Chinese biography source, I read that his family sent him to Hong Kong to complete High School, and then he studied Political Science in Ling Nam University in Guangdong. He returned to California and work in a government department for a while before taking a actor training class. The rest is history. The source is in Chinese and not sure if it is accurate.
