Summary Ben Modo was born in September 1977 in Garoua, a city in the Northern Region of Cameroon. In 1998, he became the key student representative who fearlessly fought to better students’ conditions during the National Talks on Education held in the Gabonese National Assembly presided by the Vice President of Gabon, Didjob Divungi Di Ndinge. At the end of 2003, Ben Modo became the francophone President of the secret and mostly Anglophone CNC (Cameroonian National Congress), a Cameroonian movement created by young Cameroonians in the US and Canada. After refusing to use force to overthrow Mr. Biya’s government in Yaoundé, Ben Modo resigned in March 2004 therefore causing the end of the Congress. It is believed that the news of Mr. Biya’s death in 2004 was an attempt by the “armed” branch of the Cameroonian National Congress to anticipate the coup initially opposed by Ben Modo while still President of the Congress. Today, he lives in the United States where he heads the Project Division of Premier Construction, a mid-size Home Builder and General Contractor. Ben Modo holds degrees in Business and Public Administration.
