Bengali Poetry since 1990'

The Bengali poetry since 1990 was governed by two major magazines, named as Bijolpo and Gandhar. The poets like Prasun Bhowmik, Samyobrato Joardar, Sarthak Roychowdhury, Hindol Bhattacharjee, Anirban Bandhyopadhyay, Ayon Chakraborty have built the modern foundation of Bengali poetry. Their major contributions are: Andhokarer Anubad by Sarthak roychowdhury, Ahiritola, by Anirban Bandhyopadhyay, Tumi Arakshito, Abar hemontokal by Hindol Bhattacharjee, maya, Tumi By Ayon Chakroborty. Thereafter Srijato, Mandakranta Sen have come into scene. The main characteristics of the Bengali poetry since 1990,are making a local language, along with making a movement in the scenario of language. The main characteristics can be viewed in Kobitacharja, a book, published by Sahitya Academy, in the year 2004,in which we can read about the interactive session of 15 poets, mainly of 90's. Besides we can see how the age has come out from the so-called mysticism, and governs the language of multiple unconscious. today, the bengali poets are going towards a new journey, led by Hindol Bhattacharjee, Srijato, Binayak Bandhyopadhya, Mandakranta Sen, Rudrasankar, Sarthak Roychowdhury, Prasun Bhowmik and Avik Bandhyopadhya. Four poets have influenced the language of Bengali Poetry and they are Joy Goswami, Bhaskor Chakraborty, Utpol Kumar Bosu and Binoy Mojumdar.
