Benton Academy is an independent, co-educational college preparatory school in Benton, Mississippi (USA). It is member of the MPSA. The headmaster of the school is Jamie Carr.

Benton Academy participates in the Mississippi Private School Association for their sports programs. [1]. For the athletic periods of 2006-2009 Benton Academy will [be] participating in the Class A North District 4-A Group. Its historical athletic rivals include Central Holmes Academy, Tri-County Academy, Sharkey-Issaquena Academy, Humphreys Academy, and Manchester Academy in nearby Yazoo City. Tamara Vandevere serves as the Athletic Director.

Take Interstate 55 to the Canton/Yazoo City exit 124. This will be Hwy 16. You will go approximately 15 miles west towards Yazoo City. Benton Academy will be on your right. You may also take Hwy 49 to Yazoo City. You will see a Benton exit. That will be Hwy 16. You will go approximately 7 miles. Benton Academy will be on your left.
[edit] Notable Alumns
- Wes Shivers, Class of 1995 - Wes played offensive line for Hinds Community College and Mississippi State University before being drafted by the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. Wes also played briefly with the Atlanta Falcons. Shivers was also famously knocked out by Deuce McCallister during a brawl during the Ole Miss vs. MSU rivalry game known as the Egg Bowl.
