Bentleigh East is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is in the Local Government Area of the City of Glen Eira and is located 17 km south-east of the Melbourne CBD.
The suburb, like its neighbour Bentleigh, was named after the infamous Victorian politician Thomas Bent.
It is bounded to the west by Tucker Road, to the north by North Road, to the east by Warrigal Road and to the south by South Road. It is bisected by Centre Road.
The area around Mackie Road is sometimes called Coatesville.
Government Schools within East Bentleigh include Valkstone Primary School, Coatesville Primary School, Tucker Road Primary School, Bentleigh Secondary College (formerly Moorabbin City Secondary College) and East Bentleigh Primary School (formerly Moorabbin Heights Primary School - in Bignell Road).
Government Schools closed during the 1990's included East Bentleigh Primary School (in Centre Road), Eastmoor Primary School and Moorleigh High School (now Moorleigh Village)
Features of the Area include the Bentleigh East Swim Centre, Monash Medical Centre (Moorabbin Campus) and Yarra Yarra Golf Club.
