Benthorn
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Benthorn is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located in the municipality of Rijnwoude, about 2 km east of the centre of Benthuizen.
Benthorn was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1846, when it became part of Benthuizen.[1] Part of the hamlet had to be demolished for the construction of the high speed railway HSL-Zuid, and only three farms remain. The name of the hamlet is no longer printed on recent topographical maps of the area.[2]
