Bensville is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the City of Gosford local government area.

The main section of Bensville is centred on Kallaroo Road, and consists of a small park, video store, cafe, general store and hairdressers. A small combination of shops have recently been added in 2005. One highlight is a small wharf located at the end of Kallaroo Road, which is a popular local fishing spot.

[edit] History

Bensville is named after a pioneer of the area, Benjamin Davis. His father had been a school teacher at Kincumber and Davistown is named after his family. Benjamin started a shipbuilding business around 1850 and also owned 1,000 acres (4.05 km²) of land there. When a post office was opened, it was named Bensville, in honour of the pioneer.

Bensville is separated into three sections. The first section is the new estate. This area is also on the water and this area has a wharf, scout hall and a small shop section. There is general store/restaurant, a real estate and a hair dressers (a chemist will be there shortly). The second section is the acredge. This is the area which is near the small christian primary school. There is also a kingdom hall over here. The third area is over near the horse riding area.

Bensville is located in between Empire bay and Kincumber. Also it only takes a half hour walk over the hill, in the third section of bensville, to reach MacMasters Beach.

Bensville has a scout shed.
