Benoît Battistelli

Benoît Battistelli is a French civil servant and current head [1] of the French National Intellectual Property Institute (INPI, standing for Institut national de la propriété industrielle in French), the French national intellectual property office, in charge of patents, trademarks and industrial design rights. [2] He has held this post since May 12, 2004. [3] [4] He is also current deputy chairman of the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation. [5] He was elected to this post on December 5, 2006 for a three-year term. [6]
He graduated from the École Nationale d'Administration (ÉNA). [4] Before holding the post of director of the French National Intellectual Property Institute (INPI), he was assistant director of staff of Nicole Fontaine.[4]
He has been named as one of the potential candidates to succeed Kamil Idris to lead the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). [7]
