Benny Medina

Benny Medina (born January 24, 1958) is a talent agent for Handprint Entertainment. His clients have included Jennifer Lopez (ended 2003, when Lopez sued Medina, but returned in 2006), Brandy (ended 2004), Angela Winbush, Mariah Carey, Nicole Richie, Usher, and Tyra Banks (ended 2007). In 2007, he was ranked 48th in Out magazine's "50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America".[1] He has also produced several movies and television shows. He was a writer and producer of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

He started his career with the group Apollo, who released their self titled album on Gordy/Motown in 1979. Medina was the lead singer, other members included Kerry Gordy (Keyboards), Cliff Liles (Bass), Lenny Greene (Drums) and Larry Robinson (Guitar). Medina co-wrote three of the seven tracks, including the marvellous "Astro disco". The album was produced by Ray Singleton aka Raynoma Gordy-Singleton, former wife of Motown founder Berry Gordy.[citation needed]

In the song "Better Than Yours" by Kanye West, West states that the new head of his management is Benny Medina.

Benny Medina is rumored to be representing rising Reggaeton star Michael Halimi
