Benjamin Banneker Circle is a traffic circle in Southwest Washington, D.C., United States, named for Benjamin Banneker, the first African American presidential appointee. Banneker was appointed to the six-man team responsible for surveying the land that would become the District of Columbia. The circle lies along the L'Enfant Promenade near the intersection of Interstate 395 and Maine Avenue.
