Benetka Road Bridge is a covered bridge spanning the Ashtabula River in Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States. The bridge, one of currently 15 drivable bridges in the county, is a single span Town truss design, with laminated arches being added during its renovation in 1985[1]. The bridge’s WGCB number is 35-04-12[2], and it is located at 41°50′55.104″N, 80°41′21.948″W (40.84864, 80.68943)[3] approximately 4 mi (6.4 km) south of North Kingsville.

  • From Interstate 90 exit 235, head south on State Route 193 approximately 1.6 miles
  • Turn right (west) on Plymouth Ridge Road (C-20) and continue 1.3 miles
  • Turn left (south) on Benetka Road (T-350) and continue 0.4 miles to the bridge[4].

  • 1985 – Bridge rehabilitated; laminated arches added.

The bridge is located in Sheffield and was first known as East Matherson, named after Samuel Mather. John Greggs, the first Justice of the Peace, gave it the name of Sheffield. In the mid 1800s a water powered saw, grist and flour mill was located by this site.
