Benedetto Stay

Benedetto Stay (Croatian: Benedikt Stay Stojković) born in Ragusa (Dubrovnik), Dalmatia in 1714, died at Rome in 1801. Educated to the school of the Jesuits it attended the academic assemblies of Marine Sorgo, beginning the composition of a poem on the shipment of Alexander Farnese. Later on it published “Saggio sull'uomo”, based on the system of Descartes. When had 28 years, in a journey to Rome in order to Turin in quality of University professor, it was withheld from the card. Silvio Valenti Gonzaga, which give to him the class of eloquenza in the Wisdom of Rome. Clement XIII conferred it the assignment of secretary of Latin letters and Clemente XIV name it Head of the Secretariat of the Short ones to Principles (1769), gave to him the titles of Canonical of S. Greater Maria, Domestic Prelat, Consult of the Index and Dater of the Penitenzieria. Devout WAYS, the pope assigment the work of reorganization of intern regiment. In February 1801 died 25. The author of two Latin poem, one over the cartesian philosophy in 6 books, Venice the 1744 and other over that one of Newton in X books 1755-1792. It wrote moreover three orations: one in died of Clement XII, one for the election of its successor and third in died of August III king of Polonia.
