Beneath the Encasing of Ashes is the first full length album released on Pluto Records in 2001 by the Metalcore band As I Lay Dying. Many reviewers[1][2] and also casual listeners[3] compared the overall sound of this album to Zao. It is widely thought that the band found its own sound on later albums, Frail Words Collapse and Shadows Are Security.
