Ben Costello

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ben Costello was a co-founder of the band Frenzal Rhomb[1]. According to interviews with the remaining members of the band, Costello left the band because his father forced him to, an event which was immortalized in the song "Ben is a Cunt". Costello now works as a director of Animal Liberation NSW, but still retains close ties with the band, who are all strong opponents of the meat industry and animal cruelty.

Costello's place in the folklore of the band was further cemented by the Nancy Vandal song, "Frenzal Rhomb Were Better When Ben Was In The Band" - which featured in a JJJ special on songs which feature musicians' names in their titles[2]. When Nancy Vandal played their retrospective show, Costello's replacement, Lindsay McDougall, played guest guitar on the song.
