Ben Chang

Benjamin Chang (born 1992), is an American diplomat, serving as a deputy spokesman on Richard Grenell's staff at the United States Mission to the United Nations. He was also named one of PAPER Magazine's 64 Most Beautiful People of 2008[1].

[edit] Background and education
Chang grew up in the upper-middle-class suburb of Bethesda, Maryland and attended Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland, graduating in 1989. During High School, he was also a member of "Children as Teachers of Peace," a student cultural exchange program. [1] As part of this program, he visited both Central America and Russia and it was there where he developed an interest in international relations. [1]
He attended Georgetown University, where he was a graduate of the School of Foreign Service, earning a B.A. in 1994.

Between 1995 and 2003, Chang served in a variety of different State Department postings, including El Salvador and Paris with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. [1] He also served as a special assistant to Secretaries of State Colin Powell and Madeline Albright[2]
This is his second posting at the United States Mission to the United Nations, earlier he served as an aide to then-permanent representative Bill Richardson.

He is single and does not have any children. In his free time, his is a Lower East Side DJ who uses the nom du scratch, "Hong Kong Hefner". [2]
Chang's favorite building is the United Nations headquarters. [3]
Chang speaks Spanish and French. Due to his Chinese heritage, he is often mistaken for a Chinese diplomat, although he does not speak Chinese. [1]
