Ben Blackwell

Ben Blackwell (Born Benjamin Jesse Blackwell on June 12, 1982) is the creator and director of Cass Records in Detroit, Michigan, and a nephew of Jack White of the White Stripes. From the beginning of the Stripes' existence, he was their 'roadie' and wrote much of the groups' website content. Also one of two drummers for The Dirtbombs, a Detroit-based rock band. Known as the White Stripes' official archivist he wrote the liner notes to Under Blackpool Lights as well as writing various articles for such magazines as Creem and the Metro Times. He has also contributed towards the factual book by Everett True called the White Stripes and the sound of Mutant Blues. He also writes on turn it down blogspot, under the name "trembleunderboomlights".
Through his label he has released records from such artists as The Mooney Suzuki, Blanche, The Waxwings, The Trachtenburg Family Slide Show Players, The Sights, The Muldoons, Kelley Stoltz, Dan Sartain, The Fatals, Tranzistors, The Decks and The Go.
