[edit] Template:Energy related development

The reason I consolidated many templates into this one was because they were related to the point that I found two of the smaller templates on most of the pages I looked at which is a good signal you need to condense something not to mention the many repeating entries in the smaller templates.--JEF 00:36, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

First, if you want to change the name all we have to do it move it to Template:Sustainability and Energy Development. Second, I don't think there is too much stuff on the template, since it is going on the bottom of the page which is not the most visible location, and even if there was too much, we could either auto-hide it or break the different lists into their own templates (i.e. Energy conversion has its own). Though I would rather not do that, it would still be more organized then it was beforehand.--JEF 00:36, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

If you preserve the merge, the name and emphasis definitely need to change. Did you even look at the old discussion on the template before merging? Nearly a year ago there were complainints it was too big and needed to be split. A portal to encompass all of sustainability (and therefore energy) if non-existent is certainly warranted. A few relevant templates are even reasonable, but they need to be carefully focused, another criticism from the talk page, electric assist power trains have nothing to do with ecological footprints or permaculture. You've now managed to revert all of User:Behun's work to no benefit. It doesn't matter where on the page it is, it's still clutter and bytes that have to be transmitted.

Fine I will change the name. Second, Portal:Energy covers the energy topics but that is not a substitute for having a relevant navbox on an article. Third, electric assisted power train has to do with ecological footprints as bicycles with it have a larger footprint then a regular bicycle because of their need for oil and permaculture lowers the ecological footprint of mankind, so I do not see how you can say that. Forth, Behun's work was not wasted as all I did was improve on it; it was a good starting point. Fifth, it is not clutter to have a well organized navbox to help find related articles; it actually reduces clutter by organizing what would be an incomplete and disorganized list under see also. Finally, merging reduces the amount of bytes Wikipedia has to transfer because it eliminates repetion between templates, articles, etc.--JEF 01:54, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your method for emphasis

Hi! I must say I find your method for emphasising a phrase original. I haven't seen it before (on Wikipedia at least). Cheers! Phaunt 07:38, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

I just saw your fix of my typo on Larry Niven. I wanted to say thanks. Sadly, I do that whole letter juxtaposition thing too often. :)
