User:Bellemare
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bellemare stands for J.J. Bellemare. That's me!
I am a French-speaking Canadian immigrant to the United States and I had the privilege the live in New Orleans' historic French Quarter until Hurricane Katrina's landfall. I have been a Wikipedian since 2006. I have a B.A. in History.
When I come across a landmark that has not yet drawn the attention of Internet users, I generally research it and add a short description on Wikipedia. I do my best to be informative rather than use Wikipedia to share my personal opinions. The articles that I write are not always very polished, but it is to be taken with a grain of salt since the content of Wikipedia is a continuing work in progress.
[edit] Past Articles
I have written or reshaped many brief articles, related to a wide variety of topics. They include:
- In the Greater New Orleans Area and South Louisiana:
- City, state and federal politics;
- Creole culture;
- Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath;
- Jazz musicians;
- Local and state history;
- Stand-up comedians;
- In Savannah and its surroundings:
- African-American Heritage;
- Local buildings and structures;
- Meaning of street and road names;
- Waterways;
- In my native area, La Mauricie, and Quebec, Canada:
- Historians;
- History and landmarks;
- Local economy;
- Local politicians;
- Military history;
- Provincial third party politics.
[edit] Future Projects
I would like to:
- improve and expand the content of the articles that I have written already;
- write articles related to the Savannah Jewish community;
- translate the articles that I have written already into French, my native language.
