Talk:Belmarsh (HM Prison)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Belmarsh secret scrolls.

Life in prison for a typical non terrorist prisoner can be one of eternal torment, fear and condemnation by the guardians of the prison.(The prison officers) When an inmate does anything contrary to the laws of the prison, he is charged and taken down to the Block. This is where you are kept in a small cold room with a toilet that doesn't flush and the colour of the walls are of a dark blue. This colour psychologically induces depression, which then leads to maddness. This was the intention when the Block was built. You are given only a thin sheet as a blanket and you have a very hard matress. You are expected to stand to attention at the back of your cell, for an officer to come in. Any rule breaking on the Block, results in being kicked, beaten and tortured to within an inch of your life. It is a place that many inmates try to avoid. But it doesn't take much to get sent down. Failing to provide a urine sample(MDT) or simply standing up for yourself to an officer who may be abusive toward you.

THe food in Belmarsh is one of the worst. It is often cold, uncooked and the bread is often stale. Food safety standards don't appear to patrol this prison. Inmates on completion of their sentence here, often reoffend or kill themselves. This is due to the psychological trauma that has become a consequence of being held in this particular prison. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.19.131.39 (talk) 12:05, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

It would certainly seem that this artcle has been written by a former guest of the prison, someone that has broken the law. I wonder what offence that could have been? breaking in to a vulnerable old person's home and stealing their personal possessions to sell in order to feed his drug habit; or maybe street robbery, with a similar goal in mind; or possibly good old fashioned mindless violence. Then, after committing anyone - or possibly all - of these offences against a law-abiding society, he breaks the rules of the prison so that he is sent to the segragation unit. Such is this person's arrogance that he feels the law and rules of a civilised society do not apply to him. He then makes a pathetic attempt to place himself as the victim, abdicating his own responsibility for his predicament. In my experience while working in the criminal justice system, the one type of offender that is very good at blaming others for their actions, is a sex offender, particularly a paedophile. Perhaps this is what this person is.

Either way, can YOU really trust what he says?
