[edit] AAFSS Politics
I think this need to be reworked with details, more objective tone and more references.
- That material was taken whole (by me!) from Greg Goebel's site. I didn't mean to leave it unedited this long. It is PD material, so it doesn't have to be rewritten, but I usually do anyway, as Greg's writing style is different from Wikipedia's standards. I'll see what I can do to help improve it in the next few days. - BillCJ (talk) 19:02, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- I removed the politics part from the sentence. There were several problems that caused delays with the AH-56 with a lot of them being technical. -Fnlayson (talk) 19:53, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- I have no quarrel with discussing politics, but the way that was worded it sounds like hearsay. Yes they had rotor vibration issues with the Lockheed rigid rotor system. A lot of technical issues were ironed out by the time the political football was punted. If anyone knows actual details of the politics, I'd love to read it; and technical as well.--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 22:33, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Also, AAH info should go here, but I think the AAFSS details should go in the AH-56 Cheyenne article. That's the most specific place. -Fnlayson (talk) 22:42, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- True, AAFSS should not be in this article except for how it directly relates to AAH.--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 23:11, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Images
BTW, I have a bunch of photos from the AAH program that I found, but am unsure of the copyright issues with them. I don't think they even belong to the sites where I got them. Thoughts?--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 22:35, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- They would be nice to have, but would get deleted before long without proper source and usage info. -Fnlayson (talk) 23:16, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
I know that, so tell me a way to fix it. ;)--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 23:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- That'd take psychic powers. :) -Fnlayson (talk) 23:36, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Too bad there isn't an offline review area to you can look at photos in a draft form.--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 01:11, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Off topic, but there's a new photo of a HH-60 Pave Hawk available if you want it.--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 01:06, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Developmental testing
A retired colleague of mine conducted a full scale crash test of a YAH-63 in the early 80's, if that's of any interest here. Maybe a short section describing the test and a photo? Let me know.--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 03:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds interesting. Do you know a report title or number that covered the testing? -Fnlayson (talk) 03:57, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it's USAAVSCOM TR-86-D-2, Full-Scale Crash Test (T-41) of the YAH-63 Attack Helicopter, Apr 86.--THE FOUNDERS INTENT TALK 16:21, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
