[edit] Move to Bell Bay Pulp Mill
As far as I can tell, both Gunns and the relevant government authorities have referred to this in all formal applications and proposals as Bell Bay Pulp Mill. The name "Tamar Valley Pulp Mill" appears to have been constructed by opponents of the mill, and fed to the media, who have run with it. I suggest Bell Bay Pulp Mill would be a more correct title for this article. Hesperian 01:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- Google is a bit inconclusive...
- "Bell Bay Pulp Mill" - 2850
- Bell Bay Pulp Mill - 54600
- "Tamar Valley Pulp Mill" - 4710
- Tamar Valley Pulp Mill - 19400
- If the official name is Bell Bay Pulp Mill (per owners website) then we should use that. Agree with move proposal. —Moondyne 09:31, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

- You need to explain why the official name is insufficient. It has nothing to do with POV and everything to do with accuracy. —Moondyne 09:44, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

- I believe Gunns may own more than one pulp mill. Hesperian 11:19, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks for the response to the alternative suggestion.
- (1) It is essentially the Gunns pulp division that is creating the mill - regardless of the location names - so to step aside of the location names (Bell Bay is also the site of the ironic power station (an oil power station originally built by a predominately hydro electric corporation now a gas fired one) - Bell Bay Power Station, Tasmania - if you are not familiar with local context - just see the way that article is written - the Bell Bay and Tamar Valley names show well in that article.
- (2) Pulp mills dont come easy these days -(who has the spare billions) its just the one planned one.
- (3) Official names in the Tasmanian project and context are intriguing - I do believe that for the purpose of the wikipedia article is to choose a name which indentifies the builder - not the ambiguity of locality names. The Franklin dam and Lake pedder articles of earlier issues were never written up against the official names - they were written against the popular names - and the akas were sometime included. - I'm curious: why is the power station "ironic"? I don't see any arguments in your points 1) and 2) to why we shouldn't use the official name. Your 3) indicates an official name is where the article will end up, so lets go there now. —Moondyne 05:37, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Add current event tag
Does anyone know how to add the 'This article deals with a current event...' table at the top? I have no idea how to do it. [[[User:Redspeck|Redspeck]] 07:59, 4 October 2007 (UTC)]
