There may have been talk of the DUP taking the Westminster seat, but only from DUP spinmeisters. Look at the Assembly election results. This is the last majority Unionist seat in NI the DUP could take. Gerry Lynch 09:58, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Looking at it again I guess you're right, though the DUP vote has risen. Mind you with the recent state of things severe pessimism about the UUP's chances anywhere can set in. Timrollpickering 10:22, 30 Jul 2004 (UTC)

The page says the seat was created in 1922, but the list of MPs goes back to the 19th century. --Helenalex (talk) 04:15, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
