Belvidere School is a secondary school located on the outskirts of Shrewsbury. A mixed-sex comprehensive school, Belvidere draws 11-16 year olds from the surrounding areas of Monkmoor, Belvidere Paddocks and Castlefields. The school is Shropshire County Council maintained, and there are 810 pupils on roll as of September 2007. It is sited in attractive and extensive grounds bordering open fields down to the River Severn.
The school has been a Technology College for the last three years, specialising in Technology, Science and Mathematics. Belvidere School emphasises the importance of good examination results, regular and rigorous homework and high standards of personal appearance and conduct.
